Ultimately, I’m good with mockups, but as a designer, sometimes I have to convince people with my mockups of what they should or shouldn’t change.

what is more significant, and what doesn’t affect their navigation. Sometimes I will create two of the same page just for the client to understand and see the new changes I want to make on their site. I think they eventually understand after they see the new one and forget the old design, but now and then, they are like, ” hey why don’t we just use the old one ? “. I know that sometimes I also get easily overwhelmed with clients wanting me to change things they don’t even need, which can slow me down. Still, I think it all depends on the client. You have some clients who want everything to change and some who only want a few minor changes but are still on the same page as the rest, so yeah. I guess it’s just about client preference and learning to work with them better while understanding and explaining the importance of why things are changed and why these changes must be made.
Some clients don’t want to try anything new and change things for their reasons – it could be that they don’t like how it looks, so they keep it the same even if it doesn’t function well anymore for them. Sometimes they only want to change the color and not the functionality so it can look different even though the functions are the same, and they are done trying to expand it more. It could be that they have a different vision of the site, and they don’t want to try to mold it into something else; they want something different, and it could also be that they just don’t understand what the design is trying to achieve with the different elements. Then you have clients who just want what they want and refuse to see anything wrong with it and are happy that everything is working as it should, even though it may be cluttered and complicated.
However, I think it all comes down to building a good relationship with the client and understanding what they are trying to say with their designs and how you can help them achieve those results while still maintaining your own vision. So my advice to you would be to get along with your clients, be a good listener and always try to explain your design decisions in a way that they can understand so that they don’t feel that you are just changing everything up for no reason at all because at the end of the day you have to deliver something that they will be happy with too otherwise they will just end up going somewhere else to find someone to work with that will cater to their exact needs.
