Children are placed into classes according to age and skill level. We evaluate each child during their initial lesson to make sure that they have been placed into an appropriate stage. When their current certificated class has successfully met its objectives, children can move onto the next one. kindly read more at Eduqation blog.

Guppies (ages 3-5 years) and Sea Turtles (ages 6-12) programs are tailored to help children become confident swimmers by teaching breathing, body balance and confidence in and around water. Our advanced school aged program, Aquatots, helps students build up stamina for squad level swimming.

Adults

Adults too are welcome to our lessons; our aim is to normalise not knowing how to swim by providing lessons tailored specifically for adult learners – helping them feel more at ease in the water. In addition, non-competitive squad style classes provide fitness benefits or cross-training purposes; lessons are available year round to both children and adults to ensure uninterrupted learning opportunities that allow swimmers to advance rapidly through levels. New customers must undergo an assessment session prior to commencing lessons.

Babies

Early exposure to water and learning to swim are both vital for children’s wellbeing. Our aim is to introduce your baby in a fun, safe environment with experienced teachers guiding their education in this regard. Your infant will first learn how to control his/her breathing in the water and float, before learning how to navigate safely around the poolside without holding onto your hand while simultaneously learning emergency escape routes back home should there be any sort of incident or accident.

Family

Swimming lessons Cranbourne provides classes to meet the needs of children of all ages. Our Learn to Swim kids program runs uninterrupted for 49 weeks each year, enabling students to build on their skills consistently and progress through levels rapidly. In addition, baby swimming lessons taught by experienced teachers offer parents peace of mind knowing their child is receiving top quality instruction at all times.

Furthermore, Star Swim Schools is supported by SWIM Australia which delivers world-leading swimming education, training and support across over 600 Swim Schools Australia-wide.

Swimming offers a total body workout without straining joints, making it suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Swimming strengthens all major muscle groups – including core.

Water therapy may also benefit the lungs – particularly for those living with asthma. The buoyancy of the water may help enhance breathing control.

1. Strengthens Muscles

Swimming is a low-impact exercise that uses large muscle groups simultaneously, providing an opportunity to strengthen and tone all parts of the body simultaneously while improving flexibility and endurance.

Strengthen the muscles involved with respiration to increase lung volume and breathing technique, making the pool an especially helpful environment for those living with asthma as it tends to be warm, humid, and low pollen counts.

Increase muscle mass by eating protein-rich foods and maintaining a caloric surplus, both essential for muscle growth. You can do this by following a healthy diet which includes lean proteins and complex carbohydrates while staying hydrated before, during, and after workouts; this will allow for maximum results that are sustainable over time.

2. Burns Calories

Swimming provides an effective workout for the whole body that is both low-impact and time efficient, making it suitable for people who may otherwise find exercising difficult due to pain or injuries. Swimming also serves as an effective way of burning calories while improving cardiorespiratory fitness – plus it may aid weight loss as a bonus!

Swimming works almost all of the major muscle groups, such as legs, arms and core. Furthermore, it strengthens heart and lungs while being an effective form of exercise for pregnant women. Furthermore, its buoyant nature makes swimming an excellent form of exercise for people suffering joint issues due to less strain placed upon joints by certain other forms of exercises.

Studies indicate that swimming can improve cardiovascular endurance and help lower cholesterol, blood pressure and body fat. Furthermore, swimming boosts mood while improving sleep quality.

3. Improves Mental Health

Like other forms of exercise, swimming causes your body to release endorphins that boost your mood and help clear away negative thoughts from your mind. Furthermore, its repetitive nature allows you to focus on breathing properly and clear away negative energy from your thoughts.

Stress is a primary contributor to many health conditions, including high blood pressure and heart disease. Swimming can provide relief by decreasing cortisol levels – cortisol is known for being linked with depression.

Regular swimming can help improve sleep patterns and decrease feelings of restlessness, by increasing blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain – aiding memory and mental acuity, plus it’s a social sport so you can swim with friends or join a club for added benefits! Furthermore, aquatic facilities offer safe environments low pollen count environments to swim safely for those living with asthma.

4. Reduces Stress

Swimming is an enjoyable low-impact exercise that strengthens and tones your entire body while simultaneously burning lots of calories. Swimming can be particularly helpful if injuries or health conditions prevent other cardio workouts from being performed, plus its repetitive nature helps relieve tension by the soothing water pressure.

Swimming also stimulates your body to release endorphins, which release chemicals known as neurotransmitters that boost your mood and make you feel good — similar to what runner’s experience during exercise. This makes it easier to get quality restful sleep which improves mental wellbeing; especially because stress and anxiety can manifest physical symptoms such as headaches and high blood pressure.

5. Boosts Mood

Swimming can be an ideal form of meditation, helping to both lower blood pressure and anxiety levels while the cool temperature of the water helps you feel calmer. Swimming can induce this feeling known as the “blue mind,” whether at a beach, lake, or even your own backyard pool.

Exercise releases natural endorphins into the body to increase endorphin production and boost mood, according to Carter et al. Furthermore, submerging yourself in water increases blood flow to the brain which improves memory, concentration and overall mental wellbeing.

Additionally, many older swimmers report increased sense of wellbeing from engaging in swimming-related activities. Participants specifically reported less fatigue and anger issues as well as decreased depression symptoms. Such improvements may help to mitigate fibromyalgia symptoms and enhance quality of life.
